Ian Snow - One month on

Month one? Feels like I've been a part of the team forever!

The first few weeks at any company is always a bit of a whirlwind, between HR inductions, meeting clients and figuring out the internal processes my mind has been whirring with new ideas, exciting opportunities and yes – lots of new names to learn!

Mark High did warn me that the role would be full on and fun, and he’s certainly delivered. The first few days alone I was thrown into the HR induction and completed customer visits with Craig Hopper and understood estimating and technical procedures from Richard Middleton and Jamie Mendham respectively.

What’s been brilliant to see is the close relationships Ecoglass maintains internally as a team and externally with clients, the family ethos really does run through the veins of everything that happens here and I'm excited to be a part of this in my own way.

Sharing technical insights

Talking to customers, the excitement of having a dedicated technical support asset is palpable. In my role I’ll be supporting customer orders that require technical insights, but I also want our clients to know that they can reach out to me directly. I'm not one to gatekeep information, the more informed our customers are, the more confidently they can quote, and for any gaps in knowledge? They know exactly where I am.

My key focus heading into 2026 is to bridge these gaps of knowledge often experienced when talking about glass. So, I've already offered to provide dedicated one-on-one training with our customers, and I'm also developing an online training series on a range of subjects.

I'll be creating live webinar sessions lasting just 30 minutes on a range of different topics – if the technicalities of glass feel like a mystery to the team, you want to train up junior employees who are new to the industry, or maybe just need a refresher yourself, these sessions will be open to our customers, and designed for your needs.

In fact, if you have a particular topic you’d really like to be covered – let me know! I’m in the process of putting this training series together now ready for a Q1 launch.

Looking ahead

In the best possible way, it feels like I've been a part of this team forever.

I'm looking forward to supporting our internal sales team on orders, working directly with clients for training and technical support and broadening this school of knowledge to wider colleagues.

In this new phase of my career, I've got a lot to get stuck in to and an opportunity to put my little stamp on this great company, and I genuinely couldn’t be more excited for the opportunities ahead.

Thank you for having me, Ecoglass, it’s going to be fun!
