Meet Viv Revell and Emily Trippett, Customer Service Team Members
This month, we’re doing things a little differently for our meet the team series.
Meet Viv Revell and Emily Trippett. Part of the Customer Service Team, this interview was supposed to highlight what they get up to and the daily joys and challenges of their role at Ecoglass. And yet, on the day of the interview, all well-intentioned plans firmly went out of the window as we (very importantly) discussed everything from the latest Netflix releases, to favourite food spots and their enduring friendship.
So, for this final blog in the series, we're collectively celebrating Viv and Emily and their amazing enthusiasm, industry expertise and mutual love for sunshine and Italian cuisine.
Q: How long have you been with Ecoglass?
Viv: 11 years
Emily: It’s 8 years for me. But we’ve known each other for much longer, we actually used to work at another company together before I followed Viv to Ecoglass.
Q: That’s lovely. You clearly have a great working relationship.
Viv: We do, and it’s not just me and Emily. The entire team is quite tight knit. It really helps that we all love the same TV shows as well, so there’s always the latest series to catch up and gossip over!
Q: Any current recommendations?
Emily: The team loves thriller and crime drama type of shows, so Department Q on Netflix was the hot topic today.
Interviewer: I have recently binged this and can happily confirm it’s worth the hype.
Viv: I'll bump it up the ‘to watch’ list then! I’m also rewatching The Handmaids Tale
Interviewer: I never seemed to click with that show.
Emily: Thank you! Neither could I! I really tried but I just could not get into it.
Viv: You need to give it a few episodes; it does pick up.
Emily and the Interviewer exchanged sceptical glances but nodded along anyway.
Q: Tell me more about what you get up to on the day-to-day?
Emily: Well, we both have the same role managing customer orders.
Viv: When an order comes through, we input it into our system and, if needed, we call customers to confirm any outstanding details that may have been missed on the initial form. We’ve developed quite a good radar for any potential problems on orders!
Emily: Yeah, it’s really important to catch those little niggles early so that we’re getting things right first time, and the production team can do their job smoothly.
Viv: I see us as the first step in ensuring Ecoglass is always delivering a reliable, high-quality service to our customers.
Emily: Yeah, I completely agree with that.
Q: Tell me more about the orders – is it one person managing the same order throughout?
Emily: Once the order is on the system, if there’s any issues or special requirements against an order, anyone from the team can pick it up.
Viv: It’s one of the best things about being such a tight knit team, we can quickly share any insights and issues and help each other out with any orders.
Q: Sounds like quite the Superhero Team keeping orders in check and things running smoothly!
Viv: I’m not sure about Superheroes, but we certainly do our best to make sure our customers get exactly what they need and when they need it.
Q: Tell me about life outside of Ecoglass then. What do you get up to?
Emily: Well, we tend to meet up outside of work quite a bit, don’t we? We attended Newmarket races just recently. It's a bit of an annual thing we do at work, and quite a few of us go. Plus, this year we celebrated Viv’s birthday too.
Interviewer: Happy Birthday Viv!
Viv: Thank you.
Q: And something I've been asking others is to share their favourite food, films and holiday destinations – do you have any recommendations?
Emily: I love Italian cuisine.
Viv: I agree. You can’t beat a proper wood-fired Pizza. You can really taste the difference when it’s made fresh with good quality ingredients.
Emily: What’s your favourite topping?
Viv: Probably BBQ chicken.
Emily: Good choice.
Viv: I wrote down some film options too – shall I share them?
Interviewer: Yes please!
Viv: I love Quentin Tarantino's earlier films, there’s something about the dialogue, style and storytelling that really grabs me. And as we said earlier, I love a good crime show. Anything with a bit of mystery and tension.
Emily: I’ll agree with that and also throw in rom coms. They don’t make good rom coms anymore.
Interviewer: It’s criminal really.
Emily: Isn’t it? I love the classics.
Viv: Pretty Woman is one of those films for me. It never gets old, has great chemistry, iconic scenes and is just really easy to watch.
Q: Let’s finish on holiday destinations then. What are you recommending?
Emily: Thailand. The people, the scenery, the food – it's amazing. I haven’t been for a long time, but I do have very fond memories of it.
Viv: I’ve always enjoyed Majorca. It’s got that perfect mix of beautiful beaches, sunny weather and charming towns to explore. Plus, the food is amazing. It’s one of those places where you can do as much or as little as you like and still have a great time.
Interviewer: Well, thanks for your time today, Emily and Viv, it was great to get to know more about you!
