Ian Snow

It’s certainly going to be a snowy Christmas at Ecoglass, as this year, we welcome Ian Snow to the team as Estimating and Technical Support Manager. 

Ian has extensive industry experience, not only across the glazing sector but also in retail, with a colourful career spanning sales, estimating and technical delivery.  

Ian has joined the Commercial team to provide estimating and technical support to our clients. So, we thought it would be a really good idea to throw him into the deep end and get straight into one of our Meet the Team interviews.  

After all, nothing quite says welcome to your new company like a session with marketing!  

Interviewer: Ian! Welcome to the team. How are you settling in? 

Ian: It’s been great so far, the team is really welcoming, and I’m currently being brought up to speed on all the ongoing projects and ambitions for 2026. So, a lot to wrap my head around, but I’m really excited by what I'm seeing. 

Interviewer: Tell us more about your role and what you’ll be getting up to once you’re fully settled in. 

Ian: I’ll be providing estimating and technical support to our customers, so even though I sit in the commercial team, I’ll be working closely with customer services to provide an additional layer of support for any complex projects that come through. 

I’ll also be providing direct support to architects and specifiers on glazing needs. The exciting thing about our industry is that we’re constantly pushing what’s possible with glazing, and it’s my job to make sure we’re doing it with the right products and as safely as possible.  

Interviewer: And tell us a little more about your career, as you’ve not always been in glazing? 

Ian: I started in glass, dabbled in sales and retail, came back to glazing where I then spent over 30 years with Glassolutions in a myriad of different roles. It’s fair to say that I've gained a fairly robust understanding of industry challenges and opportunities from just about every perspective, from sales to production, installation and of course – technical specification! 

Interviewer: Let's move on to a little more about you, what do you like to get up to outside of work? 

Ian: I’m a keen runner, so you’ll often find me participating in park runs, and I've read enough of these to know you love food, so before you ask – it's a Sunday roast! 

Interviewer: I love that, thank you, Ian! And what about holidays? I'm always looking out for new travel recommendations 

Ian: That one is easy – Canada. I've been to Vancouver a number of times and I really enjoy the relaxed, cosmopolitan vibes of the city. The people are great and there’s a whole range of different things to do, depending on what you like. 

Locally, I'd suggest Croatia. It’s beautiful and for the longest time was a bit of a hidden gem, but Game of Thrones has certainly changed all of that!
