Summer 2026

THE STARS ARE SHINING BRIGHT

Summer is here, and with it, awards season.

I must admit, it was a very pleasant surprise to learn that we had been nominated at the National Fenestration Awards for IGU Manufacturer of the Year but it's a nomination we wear with more than a little pride and honour. Thank you to everyone who nominated us and to those who voted; we genuinely value the strength of the relationship we share.

In this edition of our newsletter, I'll be sharing insights into the upcoming changes brought by the Future Homes Standard, updating you on the actions taken following our Q1 survey, and reflecting on our experience at the Saint-Gobain Glass 360 Event.

As ever, thank you for your continued custom and trust; we don’t take it for granted.

National Fenestration Awards NOMINEE - IGU Manufacturer of the Year

To be nominated for IGU Manufacturer of the Year at the National Fenestration Awards is something we don't take lightly.

As these nominations come from within the industry itself, from the people who work alongside us, buy from us and trust us with their business, this nomination is incredibly meaningful and important to us.

We've spent the past two years investing heavily in the standards, the people and the processes that define how Ecoglass operates. To see that recognised at a national level is a real marker of how far we've come, and a reminder of why we continue to push.

If you've found value in working with Ecoglass, whether that’s in the quality of the product, the support of the team or the transparency of the relationship, we'd be grateful for your vote. Every nomination in this category is decided by the industry, and your support means more to us than we can easily put into words.

What We're Doing With Your survey Feedback - Sales and Marketing Support

When the results of our Q1 survey came back, one of the clearest themes was that you want more from us than a great product and a reliable delivery. You want support that helps your business perform better.

We're exploring ways to provide more structured sales and marketing support to our customers, helping you communicate the value of high-performance glazing more effectively to your own customers and homeowners.

Whether that's better product information, tools to support your quoting conversations or guidance on how to talk about the upcoming regulatory changes with confidence, we want to be useful beyond the order.

The full scope of our offer is still in development, and we'll share more as it takes shape. But the intention is straightforward: if understanding glass better helps you win more work and serve your customers better, then helping you get there is a good use of our time.

If you have a specific idea about what would be useful to you, you can reach out to me directly for a chat.

THE FUTURE HOMES STANDARD AND WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU

The Future Homes Standard has now been confirmed, with regulations coming into force in March 2027 and full mandatory compliance for all new homes in England effective from March 2028. New homes will be required to produce at least 75% lower carbon emissions than those built to 2013 regulations, with heat pumps, solar PV and significantly improved building fabric now mandated across the board.

To help our customers learn more about the changes, Gaby has shared her thoughts in an article, and Ian Snow is extending the Technical Academy and will be providing a short series of free lunchtime webinars this summer, which will be available to everyone, whether you are an Ecoglass customer or not.

We believe these changes are too important to gatekeep information, and we will be doing our part to support customers and the industry in understanding and adopting these changes.

The online sessions will cover Low E Glass, Solar Control and Safety Glass, each running for 30 minutes at lunchtime.

Registration details will follow shortly. In the meantime, if any of our customers have a specific question about how the Future Homes Standard might affect your current specifications, Ian is always happy to talk it through directly.

Call +44 (0) 1603 415 400 and dial 2 to reach Ian for technical support.

We Need To Talk

As a company, we always commit to going the extra mile for our clients. Sometimes that means working with production and despatch to rush through a last-minute order, or using the KPI programme to identify and act on a customer’s commercial ambitions.

But what about the moments in between when we just... talk.

Earlier this year, Craig Hopper completed his Mental Health First Aider Course to understand how he can recognise the signs that someone is struggling, and have the confidence to start a conversation and understand how to signpost them towards the right support.

For Craig, “The biggest takeaway for me was that you don't need to fix anything, but just be present, honest and make it clear that the conversation is safe to have.”

Sometimes, going the extra mile looks like an order turned around overnight; sometimes it looks like asking someone if they're okay and meaning it.

Saint-Gobain Glass 360 event - What We Took Away

On 23 April, we attended the Saint-Gobain Glass 360 event in central London.

The event was a great opportunity to hear from different levels of the supply chain, understand the pressures we're all facing and to reflect collectively about what needs to change and how.

Michael Butterick, Marketing Director at Saint-Gobain Glass, shared his thoughts on how the UK glazing industry is facing one of the most significant periods of transformation in its history, and how the sector needs to adapt quickly in line with the upcoming changes through the Future Homes Standard and Document Q.

The broader message from Michael was that glazing isn't peripheral to the UK's housing ambitions but central to them. Windows and doors play a direct role in ensuring that technologies like heat pumps actually work as intended. Without high-performance glazing, the benefits of low-carbon heating systems can't be fully realised.
